Penalties
Penalties are financial sanctions for contract violations. They motivate the tenant to follow the rules and protect you legally. Each penalty is linked to a specific contract and can reference the exact clause that was violated.
Types of penalties
The tenant didn't pay on time. You set the penalty amount per day or as a fixed sum. Common in most rental contracts.
Noise after hours, property damage, unauthorized subletting, pets without permission — any breach of the rental agreement.
How to create
Open the property → Penalties from the menu. You'll see existing penalties and can create a new one.
Select the contract, set the date, amount, currency, and describe the violation. Be specific — this may be used as legal evidence.
Optionally link the penalty to specific contract blocks (e.g., "Grace period", "Noise rules"). This strengthens your legal position.
Upload photos, screenshots, or documents proving the violation. The tenant will see them.
The system tracks how much of the penalty has been paid. You can see the remaining debt at any time. Fully paid penalties are marked with a checkmark.

Penalties and balance
Unpaid penalties are included in the overall financial balance. They appear in the reconciliation statement and in the debts popup. The tenant sees the amount, how much they've paid, and the remaining debt.
